About this design
Lagna Sohala in Marathi: a Maharashtrian wedding card painted in Warli folk art and worded the way a family writes its lagna patrika, with the warmth of a village festival. The names sit inside a chalk chauk; one tap and a chain of dancers spirals round them to the sound of the tarpa.
Inside, the हळद, the लग्नसोहळा with its सप्तपदी, and the स्वागत समारंभ आणि जेवण follow one another as a village procession, then the मुहूर्त, venue and dress code, a countdown kept in four little huts, an RSVP form and a list of who is coming. The artwork, animation and music are the same as in the original.
