About this design
The puppet wedding: a bright, witty invitation for Rajasthani and Marwari families, and for anyone who wants their guests to smile before they have read a word.
It opens on a little wooden puppet theatre. Tap it and a dholak beats twice, the leheriya blind rolls up, and a bride and groom puppet drop in on their strings, dance, bow to each other and are lifted away with the whole stage. Inside, the wedding is told act by act, each on its own small stage: the Ghoomar night, the Baraat and the Pheras. A caravan of camels carries the date, the muhurat, the venue and the dress code on their saddle cloths, and the countdown ticks on four mirror-work discs.
Jodhpur blue with hot pink, marigold, orange and turquoise, leheriya and bandhani patterns drawn by hand, a festive Indian instrumental, and an RSVP where guests book their seat.
