About this design
Overprint in Hindi, in the words young people really use around print: प्लेट, एडिशन, लाइन-अप, कवर स्टोरी and पोस्टर stay as they are said, while the invitation itself stays warm and respectful (सादर आमंत्रित) for the elders reading it. Guests arrive at a sheet with only the blue plate printed. Press दूसरा रंग छापिए and the pink rolls in, snaps into place and the proof is ticked 2/2.
Inside is a small zine, शादी स्पेशल, opening with संपादक की क़लम से. The functions are a gig poster: संगीत is the ओपनिंग एक्ट, शादी the हेडलाइनर and the reception the आफ़्टर-पार्टी. Then the कवर स्टोरी, two पुल-आउट पोस्टर, a countdown in overlapping numerals, the venue as a ticket, and a जवाबी कूपन with the गेस्ट लिस्ट.
