About this design
Pressed Flowers in Hindi, written the way a family would write in its own keepsake diary rather than translated line by line. The linen cover reads विवाह की डायरी, each page is a पन्ना, and the days of the wedding are नमूने pinned to herbarium sheets: मेहंदी, विवाह and रिसेप्शन, each with its playful Latin name left in Latin, as a botanist would.
The pencil notes in the margin (हाशिये पर) are set in a Devanagari hand, the countdown reads खिलने में … दिन बाक़ी, and the जवाबी कार्ड waits in the paper pocket on the last page. Dates and times are typed by the host, so they read as Hindi invitations word them.
फूलों की डायरी जैसा शांत, सादा निमंत्रण: लिनन की जिल्द खुलती है, पहले पन्ने पर टेप से चिपके फूल, हर रस्म का अपना पन्ना, हाशिये पर पेंसिल से लिखी बातें, रास्ता और आख़िरी पन्ने की जेब में जवाबी कार्ड। मेहंदी, रिसेप्शन, पहनावा और नोट वैकल्पिक हैं।
