About this design
Pressed Flowers in Tamil, worded like a family's own keepsake book rather than translated line by line. The linen cover reads திருமண நினைவேடு, each page is a பக்கம், and the days of the wedding are specimens pinned to herbarium sheets: மருதாணி, திருமணம் and வரவேற்பு, each with its playful Latin name left in Latin, as a botanist would.
The pencil notes in the margin (ஓரக் குறிப்புகள்) are set in a Tamil hand, the countdown reads மலர இன்னும் … நாட்கள், and the பதில் அட்டை waits in the paper pocket on the last page. Dates and times are typed by the host, so they read as Tamil invitations word them.
