About this design
An invitation for the sangeet, the music-and-dance night before an Indian wedding. It opens in the dark with a dhol: one tap, three beats, and rings of light switch on the bulbs and lanterns until the whole screen glows.
Inside, a plum night sky is lit by amber bulbs, paper lanterns and little stars. Painted scenes of the couple dancing, the mehndi and the family performances melt into the night. The evening is laid out as a set list (mehndi, the sangeet, dinner and open dance floor), the details sit on an entry pass with a countdown in four lanterns, and guests reply on the page and see who else is coming.
Mehndi, dinner and dress code are optional. Festive Indian instrumental music starts with the first beat.
