About this design
For couples who love things made by hand. Guests arrive at a wooden table: an embroidery hoop holds a piece of linen with only a pencil sketch on it, both names lightly traced, and a threaded needle resting on the cloth. Press Start stitching and the thread runs round the hoop, sewing a wreath of flowers and the names in colour, before the needle pulls through and the cloth becomes the page.
Inside, the invitation is a sampler on oatmeal linen. The photograph sits in an oval hoop with a brass screw, the invitation on a pinned tag. The celebrations are three stitched motifs on one red thread: songbirds, two flowers tied in a bow, a moon and stars. Then a story patch with a blanket-stitch edge, a countdown in cross-stitch numbers, a little stitched map of the venue, the dress code on a care label, and replies shown as woven name tapes.
Marigold, madder red, indigo and sage thread, with a warm acoustic folk tune. The sangeet, reception, dress code and story are optional.
