About this design
Stitched Together in Tamil, worded as a family that sews would say it rather than translated line by line. The thread is a நூல், each stitch a தையல், the embroidery a பூத்தையல், and the wedding is simply இரு நூல்கள், ஒரே முடிச்சு, with no ritual terms, so it suits any family. Guests arrive at a wooden table and a hoop with only a pencil sketch on the linen. Press தையலைத் தொடங்குங்கள் and the wreath and both names are sewn in colour.
Inside, one red thread joins the சங்கீத், the திருமணம் and the வரவேற்பு, each with its own stitched motif. Then முதல் தையல், the couple's story on a patch, a cross-stitch countdown, a little stitched map, the உடை on a care label, and replies as woven name tapes.
