About this design
For couples who love galleries, good design and a dry joke. Guests arrive at a quiet gallery wall after hours: one small framed work made of the couple’s initials, a wall label and an admission ticket. One press of Enter the exhibition and the lights come up, the ticket is torn and the wall comes closer as you walk in.
Inside, the names are set very large on a strict grid, like an exhibition title, with the opening night, time and place as the run of the show. The photograph hangs in a thin black frame with a museum caption: Mixed emotions on canvas. Each celebration is a numbered room on a floor plan. Two more framed works hang beside the couple’s story, light numerals count down to Doors open, and visitor information covers the address, the dress code and the house rules (please do touch the art). Replies are a ticket form with a visitors’ book.
