About this design
Written in the Stars in Bengali, written in the words Bangla keeps for the night sky (তারা, নক্ষত্র, জোছনা, খসে-পড়া তারা) rather than translated line by line. Guests arrive in the dark, facing a brass sky lens with the couple’s names; one press of চোখ তুলে তাকান and the stars come out, a line of light joins the two names, and the lens opens onto a round chart of the sky.
The celebrations follow the moon: একফালি চাঁদ for the সংগীত, পূর্ণিমার চাঁদ for the শুভ বিবাহ and শেষ রাতের চাঁদ for the প্রীতিভোজ. The venue is an atlas entry with directions, a dial keeps the ক্ষণগণনা, and guests add their name to the sky and appear as small stars. It is about the sky and the couple only: no horoscope, no kundli.
