About this design
Written in the Stars in Hindi, written in the language Hindi already has for the night sky (तारे, चाँदनी, पूनम, टूटता तारा) rather than translated line by line. Guests arrive in the dark, facing a brass sky lens with the couple’s names; one press of नज़र उठाइए and the stars come out, a line of light joins the two names, and the lens opens onto a round chart of the sky.
The celebrations follow the moon: दूज का चाँद for the संगीत, पूनम का चाँद for the विवाह and ढलता चाँद for the रिसेप्शन. The venue is an atlas entry with directions, a dial keeps the उलटी गिनती, and guests add their name to the sky and appear as small stars. It is about the sky and the couple only: no horoscope, no kundli.
