Traditional subhalekha (groom's family)
The classic pelli patrika, opening with Srirastu Subhamastu.

Words used on Telugu cards

- What is a pelli patrika?
- It's the Telugu wedding card, also called subhalekha: the blessing at the top, who invites, the couple's names, the muhurtham, date and place, and the family's names at the end. Copy one of the cards above and fill in your details.
- How are the names written on a Telugu wedding card?
- The groom's name gets చి. (chiranjeevi) before it and the bride's name చి. ల. సౌ. Parents are written with శ్రీ and శ్రీమతి, and గారు after the name.
- Does a pelli patrika have to start with Srirastu Subhamastu?
- No. Many families start with it or with their family deity's name. You can leave it out, or start with a line of your own.
