About this design
Phulkari Vyah in Punjabi: a viah card in Gurmukhi that sounds like the family itself is calling you over. "ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਸਮੇਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਆਉਣਾ", "ਭੁੱਖੇ ਆਉਣਾ, ਨੱਚਦੇ ਜਾਣਾ!" and a second helping nobody is allowed to refuse.
The design is the same off-white handloom cloth embroidered in mustard, fuchsia, red, orange and emerald. Tap once: coloured threads stitch a phulkari medallion, the dhol lands and the cloth lifts away like a dupatta with tassels. Inside are the couple in an embroidered panel, a note from both families, and three patches down a dupatta: ਸੰਗੀਤ ਤੇ ਢੋਲ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ, ਵਿਆਹ ਦੇ ਫੇਰੇ and ਰਿਸੈਪਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਅਵਤ. Then the day, time and place, a four-diamond countdown, RSVP and who is coming. Made for Punjabi Hindu weddings; sangeet and reception can be left out.
